The heat pump selected for the house is a York® Affinity™,18 SEER Air Source Heat Pump manufactured in Norman, Oklahoma. The unit is ENERGY STAR® qualified and uses R-410 advanced refrigerant that dosen’t harm the ozone layer. Please visit www.yorkupg.com to learn more about the York Affinity heat pump.

As mentioned in our previous post titled “Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical Rough In” on December, 11th, a heat recovery ventilatior or HRV is installed in the Basement equipment room. As the name implies, this device provides fresh air to the home while recovering energy from the air it exhausts. The HRV installed is Lifebreath barnd, manufactured by Airia Brands, Inc.. The HRV intake ducts are on the top of the unit and the exhaust ducts are at each end.

Again, as mentioned in our previous post titled “Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical Rough In” on December, 11th, a central high efficency particulate air or HEPA filtration system is installed the Basement equipment room. This unit attaches to the furnace’s return air duct and removes dust, smoke, other particulates, gases and household odors, This product is a BEAM central air filtration system, manufactured by Electrolux.
